This post is really a post for your mental health!
What have you done recently to relieve stress?
The world we live in is often focused on accomplishments, getting it done, cramming it all in. As people become overwhelmed they push back and want “me” time, free from obligations or responsibilities.
I’ve found that when life gets hectic and I need a break there are two things that help. One is exercise – a form of stress relief that helps to maintain my overall health (and one I need to employ much more often). The second is one that not only helps me refocus and unwind but also helps me to connect with others- stamping, scrap booking or just in general being crafty. If I’m thinking about someone in particular, I might make the person a card. Sometimes I just want to try out a new technique or use a new product or stamp set. In that case, I’ll usually decide later to send it to someone I haven’t touched base with in a while. When I’m scrap booking, I always share my project with the subjects of the album(typically my family). We laugh over the photos and remember special events and just that pause in the daily grind to look at the pictures allows us to reconnect.
I hope that, even though it is summer and some of you are in the midst of relaxing and reconnecting, you will take time to relieve stress as we begin to wind back up with the beginning of fall and the busyness of school (for some) rapidly approaches.
Here are some of my recent stress relief projects:
I used our Life’s Adventure stamp set, our Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Folder, the Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Blendabilities makers and the Memento stamp pad! Check out our new catalog for some wonderful products to use to help relieve stress.
If you are new to stamping, our CARD KITS on page 196 and197 are the things for you. Want to scrap book but don’t have the time? Our new PROJECT LIFE (R) with Becky Higgins is PERFECT! You can find it on page 188 and 198. Please call me with any questions you have!

I want to let you know of a few changes that are coming your way! Stampin’ Up! is changing its catalogs. The new catalog will be coming out June 1st this year instead of July 1! Therefore, the retiring list is coming out earlier than usual. It will be out this weekend!!!!!!! I will post it here on my blog as soon as I have it!!! You’ll want to check it out.
Since the new catalog starts June 1st, the current Idea Book & Catalog will end MAY 31st!!! Don’t get caught with a retiring stamp set or accessory on your list in June; it will no longer be available. You’ll notice that the current Idea Book & Catalog says that it runs through the end of June- IT WILL NOT! This is one of the changes that is taking place!
As sad as it always is to see our favorite stamp set retire it’s equally as exciting to get the new catalog and find new favorites! And even better this year- it’s free!!!!!!! Stampin’ Up! has lowered the cost to its demonstrators so that we can give them to our customers. Let me know if you’d like one. Another new feature is that it can be directly shipped to you! Now, it will be available to you sooner if you get it from me upon the new release, however!!!
This is what I want to know from you- What 10 stamp sets do you think you’ll find on the retiring list? I am giving away a package of card stock of choice to the person who gets the most stamp sets correct!
You may tell me your 10 three ways:
1) email me at anyoneforstampin@gmail.com
2) post them here
3) post them on my Facebook page Christy’s Creative Crafting & Stamping

What do you and 500 horses have in common? You both have a part in making it possible for people to receive mail! The Pony Express was started in 1860 on April 3rd. At one point there were 500 horses stationed 10 miles apart on a trail that stretched from St. Joseph, MO all the way to Sacramento, CA. The mail was supposedly carried in saddlebags that were designed to make it even if the rider and horse did not according to an article by Richard Cavendish about the Pony Express (click here to read it). Now, while it was a brilliant idea by William Hepburn Russell, it only lasted 19 months when it was replaced by the telegraph! There will, however, never be a replacement for you and what you mean to those in your life. Reach out in celebration of the anniversary of the Pony Express, and show those in your life you are thinking of them. Send them a handmade card today!
Here’s an idea for a quick and easy card to make and then send.
Instructions: 1)Simply cut two strips of Wild Wasabi and Garden Green and weave them in the upper left hand corner on the Certainly Celery card base.
2) Stamp the Elizabeth stamp in Garden Green.
3) Stamp the Just For You from Oval All in Garden Green and punch out with the oval punch.
4) Adhere using dimensionals. 5) Color using Wild Wasabi marker.
All card stock and stamp sets by Stampin’ Up! Quick, Easy and Green for Spring! Post a comment letting me know who you sent the card to and why.
